Lunch for the Lamb Center
During our second session of Summer Volunteer Camp, the kids learned about food insecurity and how they can help address this issue. They then worked in teams preparing 130 delicious and healthy meals for the Lamb Center to serve to our unhoused neighbors.
Team #1 made some tasty ham and turkey sandwiches, Team #2 prepared a refreshing fruit salad filled with watermelon, blueberries, grapes, and strawberries, Team #3 made a colorful pasta salad with veggies, cheese, and basil, and Team #4 baked chocolate chip cookies.
Wendy Baird, the director of development at the Lamb Center, shared her appreciation by saying, “We are so grateful for the thoughtful lunch your students prepared for our guests today. We served everything, and the beautiful fruit salad and the cookies were especially loved!”
