Sold-out Summer Volunteer Camps are Sizzling Hot!

Kids Give Back is beating the heat this summer with five weeks of Summer Volunteer Camp! Our award-winning programs allow elementary-aged kids to jump right into serving their communities.

Highlights include making nearly 400 meals for food-insecure residents, preparing art kits for children in need, decorating pillowcases for the military, assembling Game Night Bags for families with hospitalized children, and more!

This year, we:

• Increased the camps to five by adding a week in Great Falls (in addition to three in Fairfax and one in Oakton).
• Enhanced the curriculum by teaching kids how to fundraise for a nonprofit. We also hosted bake sales and handicraft marketplaces to raise funds for Kids Give Back.
• Invited teens who are active in volunteering or founded a nonprofit as guest speakers, inspiring campers to get involved at a young age.
• Introduced new Gratitude Boxes, where the kids prepare gifts for local heroes, healthcare workers, teachers, and others.
• Brought weekly volunteer service projects to campers at River Bend Country Club.

More than 200 children made a difference by volunteering time, talent, treasure, and teamwork. Through more than $6,000 in in-kind donations, they’re bringing sunshine to individuals throughout the county.

Thanks again for inviting us to speak with the campers. Your contribution ensures that our residential staff have adequate resources to care for the individuals in our homes and gives our individuals some fun, cool towels that they can take pride in. We appreciate your partnership!
